Budding scientists shine with innovative climate projects in Tezpur

TEZPUR, Feb 25: Students from seven schools in Sonitpur district showcased innovative climate-focused science projects at a district-level Children’s Science Congress, organised under Rashtriya Aviskar Abhiyan and implemented by the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council at Rashtrabhasa Vidyalaya.

The theme was “Understanding Climate Change and Climate Action,” with projects on waste-to-energy, water management, rainwater harvesting and greenhouse effects. Inspector of Schools Prabhat Das and other officials praised the students’ efforts in promoting environmental awareness and scientific thinking.

The top projects—”Global Warming and Greenhouse Effects” by Gouranga Kalita and Bankim Deka (Kabilabad HSS) and “Threats of Climate Change and Its Solutions” by Sonakshi Kumari and Priti Sharma (Rashtrabhasa Vidyalaya) were selected for the state-level competition.
