NAGAON, March 10: A successful staging of the traditional Assamese drama “Sri krishnar Janma Yatra” Bhaona was held at the temporary stage of Kolong-Jeuti, Khutikatia, Nagaon on the occasion of Falgun Phalguni Purnima recently.
The drama was performed by the artists of Sutradhaar, a branch of Edu-Art Foundation, an organisation dedicated to promoting traditional arts.
The drama, written by Sri Sri Gopal Ata was a visual treat, with the artists showcasing their exceptional talent. The event was a tribute to the revered artist Chitta Dev Mahanta.
The performance was marked by captivating music, precise choreography and impressive costumes. The audience was mesmerised by the Sutradhaar artists’ portrayal of various characters, including Kangsha, Basudev and others.
The event was coordinated by Anjali Mahanta, a noted writer and cultural activist. The music direction and chief supervision were handled by Shubhajit Saikia.
The successful staging of the drama is expected to promote cultural awareness and appreciation among the younger generation.
