JCI Guwahati Princess carries out community initiative ‘Project Rakesh Ujaas’

GUWAHATI, March 16: JCI Guwahati Princess recently carried out a community welfare initiative titled “Project Rakesh Ujaas” at Mon Ashaneer Rehabilitation Centre and Ashaneer Home, institutions that provide care and support to children with disabilities.

The initiative was organised under the leadership of the organisation’s president Asha Agarwalla and vice-president (Community Development) Dimple Bawari along with members of the team.

The programme was held in the presence of Rakesh T Nair, National Vice President of JCI India, Sumit Poddar, Zone President of Zone 25, Gunjan Harlalka, Rahul Verma, Protocol Officer, and Priya G Tiwari, Zonal Vice President of Region D, among other dignitaries and members.

As part of the project, a garden space named “Rakesh Udyan” was developed at the centre to create a pleasant and refreshing environment for the children.

In addition, a sitting shed area was constructed to provide a shaded and comfortable space for parents who accompany their children to the centre for physical therapy and rehabilitation sessions.

The facility also offers a quiet place for children to sit and relax.

The initiative also included a donation drive under which cooked food was provided to children residing at the centre. Organisers said the project reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to community service and its efforts to bring comfort and care to children with special needs.
