In a major push towards modernisation of healthcare facilities, several advanced medical equipment have been installed across key railway hospitals. The Divisional Railway Hospital at Katihar has been equipped with a Digital X-ray system and a Fully Automated Auto Analyzer, substantially improving diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. At Rangapara North, a CR System X-Ray Machine has been commissioned, further strengthening diagnostic capabilities in the region.

The Central Hospital at Maligaon has witnessed extensive upgrades with the installation of cutting-edge systems such as the Lasotronix Laser Diode, Super Inductive Physiotherapy System and a modern Steam Sterilizer. These additions are expected to significantly enhance treatment quality and patient outcomes.

In terms of infrastructure development, the Central Hospital at Maligaon has undergone notable improvements. A new Post Graduate Doctors’ Hostel and Dormitory has been inaugurated, providing better residential facilities for medical professionals. Additionally, semi-cabins have been renovated and key wards including Female Surgical and Orthopaedic Wards, along with the Burn Unit, have been upgraded to ensure improved patient care and comfort.

A major achievement during the year has been the successful establishment of a Haemodialysis Unit at Central Hospital, Maligaon under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. This facility marks a significant step in strengthening critical care services and will greatly benefit patients requiring regular dialysis treatment.
