Tata Motors posts 28% YoY growth in April CV sales

GUWAHATI, May 3: Tata Motors reported a 28 per cent year-on-year growth in its commercial vehicle (CV) sales for April 2026, with total sales reaching 34,833 units compared to 27,221 units in April 2025.

Domestic sales stood at 32,965 units, up 27.9 per cent from 25,764 units in the same month last year, while international business recorded sales of 1,868 units, marking a 28.2 per cent increase over 1,457 units in April 2025.

Among segments, SCV cargo and pickup vehicles registered the highest growth at 40.2 per cent, with sales rising to 12,799 units from 9,131 units a year ago. Passenger carriers grew by 22.6 per cent to 5,743 units, compared to 4,683 units in April 2025.

Heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) truck sales increased by 23.4 per cent to 8,969 units, up from 7,270 units last year, while intermediate and light commercial vehicle (ILMCV) truck sales rose by 16.5 per cent to 5,454 units from 4,680 units.

The overall growth reflects improved demand across segments in both domestic and international markets.
