Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha launches official website

BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 16: Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS) officially launched its website on Friday at the conference hall of Biswanath College in a ceremonial programme attended by noted literary figures, academicians and office-bearers of the organisation, stated a press release.

The unveiling session was presided over by Dr Chinta Mani Sharma, president of ANSS, while the proceedings were conducted by General Secretary Tilak Sharma. Eminent litterateur and researcher Dr Khemraj Nepali formally unveiled the website, www.assamnepalisahityasabha.com in the presence of central vice-president Madan Thapa, organising secretary Kalpana Atreya, literary secretary Laxman Adhikari and other executive members of the Sabha.

Among those present on the occasion were Dr Sanjib Upadhyay, Kalashree Binod Khanal, Prof Bhaktaprasad Gautam, Prof Hem Gautam, Lila Timsina and Jamuna Sharma, president and general secretary respectively of the Biswanath district committee.

Speaking on the occasion, the speakers highlighted the importance of the digital platform in promoting Nepali literature, culture and literary activities across Assam and beyond. The newly launched website is expected to serve as an important medium for literary exchange, organisational updates and archival preservation.

Meanwhile, Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha has joined hands with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi to organise the prestigious “Meet the Author” programme in honour of noted Nepali writer and former ANSS president Dambar Dahal. The event will be held at Bhanu Natya Manch, Mugasong on May 17.

The Sabha stated that the programme aims to recognise Dahal’s significant contribution to Nepali literature and foster greater literary interaction among readers and writers.
