DIBRUGARH, Aug 30: Chairman and managing director of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) S.P Mohanty assumed the charge of chairman, Fertiliser Association of India (FAI), Eastern Region at a prestigious function held at Kolkata.He was warmly welcomed by FAI officials and all representatives of the fertiliser industry. During the event, Mohanty also inaugurated the seminar on ‘Abiotic Stress Management for Resilient Agriculture’.
The Fertiliser Association of India is a non-profit and non-trading association representing mainly the fertiliser manufacturers, distributors, importers, equipment manufacturers, research institutes and suppliers of inputs. The association was established in 1955 with the objective of bringing together all concerned with the production, marketing and use of fertilisers.
The FAI has four regional offices located in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi. The regional offices focus primarily on local issues and have continuous interface with the fertiliser manufacturers operating in their respective regions, the State Governments and other local authorities.
