GUWAHATI, Sept 16: The regional office of Central Bureau of Communication Guwahati organised a screening session for the fresh empanelment of Private Registered Troupes (PRTs) and individual artistes (IAs) on Wednesday and Thursday at Shilpgram, Guwahati.
The screening committee was chaired by B. Narayanan, director general, NE Zone, ministry of Information & Broadcasting. The committee comprising eminent personalities from various fields like Suvra Baishya, programme executive, AIR, Sushma Sarma, programme executive, AIR, D. P Deori, research officer, DIPR, Government of Assam, Abinash Sarma, renowned drama expert and Binay Das, acclaimed musician were the members of the screening committee.
A total of 51 cultural troupes and 4 individual artistes across the State applied for the registration process, out of which, 27 troupes and 3 artistes secured the pass marks.
After being empanelled, these troupes and artistes will be engaged for Government communication programmes on various flagship schemes like Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and many others.
Earlier, the first-ever screening and registration programme for PRTs was held in Arunachal Pradesh by CBC, Itanagar on September 7, 2022. A similar programme will also be held in Imphal, Manipur by CBC, Imphal in the coming week.
