Unveiling of ‘Kathak’

GUWAHATI, Sept 19: A book titled ‘Kathak’ was released on the second day of the ‘Sursangam – Music and Dance Festival’. The programme was organised by Sursangam, one of the leading Indian classical music and dance institutes in the state, on Sunday, at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre, Machkhowa.
This book on theoretical and practical teachings of the Kathak dance form, written by Kathak Guru Marami Medhi and Tabla player Debashish Talukdar, has been designed to suit Kathak students.
The book was released in the presence of Nrityacharya Padma Jatin Goswami, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Ramakrishna Talukdar, Kathak Guru Bipul Das, National Award-winning actress Malaya Goswami, Manjula Hazarika and Manisha Hazarika.
The book titled ‘Kathak’ will be available on Amazon, Flipkart and Surangam, said Marami Medhi.
