JORHAT, Sept 23: Shops and other business establishments will remain open on the next two consecutive Sundays, September 25 and October 2, here in view of Durga Puja celebrations.
A Labour department official here informed that as per the provisions of the Assam Shops and Establishments Act, 1971, the shops and commercial establishments could remain open on next two consecutive Sundays as per a Government notification issued earlier this year.
The notification stated about the exemption granted to shops to open during different festival times in the year as per an order by the Governor.
