International Day of Older Persons observed in Diphu

DIPHU, Oct 1: The International Day of Older Persons was observed under the aegis of Lhangmi Welfare Society, a philanthropic organisation, Manja, Karbi Anglong at Recreation Park, Diphu. The day was observed with an aim to honour the contribution of older persons and to look into the problems they face.
Altogether 50 persons including children took part in the day-long programme, out of which 17 seniors were facilitated with gifts as a sign of love and respect.
President of Lhangmi Welfare Society, Lengin Singson expressed his heartfelt thanks to James Phangcho, a social worker for donating special gifts for the 17 seniors at the programme.
Rev. S Singson, resource person thanked the seniors for their contribution in the society and also highlighted the importance of International Day of Older Persons. He also thanked Lhangmi Welfare Society for bringing together the elders and honouring them on the special day.
