JORHAT, Oct 9: Jorhat deputy commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman has ordered a two member magisterial enquiry into the death of a person under Teok revenue circle allegedly due to negligence at the Teok First Referral Unit Hospital on Sunday.
Jorhat additional deputy commissioner, Damidar Barman, said that following a complaint by the Teok regional unit of AASU, received by the district administration alleging that Narayan Hazarika of Jagduar Sonarigaon died due to medical negligence when brought to Teok FRU Hospital.
The ADC said that Teok revenue circle officer Shouvik Bhuyan and joint director of health, Jorhat have been directed to conduct an enquiry into the charges of negligence.
The complaint by AASU mentioned that family members and local people have brought up charges of negligence towards the patient.
The family members of the deceased said that on Sunday when they took the patient to the FRU, they were told by the hospital staff that the doctor was not available in the hospital and the patient cannot be admitted.
The patient died on the way to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
