Forest official dies in road accident at Bebejia

NAGAON, Oct 11: Surajit Singh, a forest official of Nagaon Sadar forest range was killed in a tragic road mishap near Bebejia Chariali on Monday.
Sources claimed that the forest official went to Guwahati for work. On his way back, he stopped his official vehicle near Bebejia Chariali to purchase something and tried to cross the road when a speeding traveller coming from Nagaon town hit him.
Meanwhile he was brought to Nagaon GD Nursing Home in a critical condition and doctor on duty immediately referred him to Guwahati for further treatment. But he succumbed to his injury on the way to Guwahati near Raha.
Later, his body was brought to Nagaon BP Civil Hospital for postmortem, sources added.
Right after postmortem at Nagaon Civil Hospital on Tuesday morning, his body was taken to his native village Borkula where his earthly remains were disposed as per religious custom, sources informed further.
