DIPHU, Oct 21: During a search operation conducted on Friday evening, Karbi Anglong police recovered arms and ammunition from the Dhansiri Reserve Forest.
Briefing media persons at Diphu police station around 8:40 pm, SP of Karbi Anglong, Diphu, Sanjib Kr. Saikia said, “As per the information received by Diphu police station regarding the dump of arms and ammunition the police has carried out searches in the evening at Dhansiri Reserve Forest and recovered 2 hand grenades, 69 live ammunition with a magazine of Ak 47 assault rifle, 3 pistol magazine, 12 live ammunition of SLR, and a detonator that were buried.”
SP Saikia also said, “It is suspected that the newly floated Dimasa National Liberation Tigers (DNLT) is the prime suspect.”
