Students from Nowgong College form human chain for ‘Green Diwali’

NAGAON, Oct 23: The students as well as members of the union body of Nowgong College (autonomous) formed human chain here in the town on Saturday last and urged everyone to celebrate the upcoming Diwali without any crackers. The students of the college conduct this awareness campaign every year with a view to spread awareness on ‘Green Dwali’.
NSS programme officers like Dr Bhuban Chandra Chetia, Dr Manash jyoti Nirmolia, Dr Sarat Borkatoki, principal of the college were among those who encouraged the students fraternity of the college to initiate such programme to sustain the eco-friendly environment as well as biodiversity during the festival of lights and sound.
Students, faculty members and other non-teaching staff of the college participated in the programme, a release added.
