14th Foundation Day of WEFA meeting to be held on Nov 8

GUWAHATI, Oct 24: A meeting will be held on November 8, 2022 at the Conference Hall (1st floor) of the Institution of Engineers, Panbazar, Guwahati on the occasion of 14th Foundation Day of the Women Engineers’ Forum of Assam (WEFA), an organization of women engineers of Assam. The meeting will begin at 4 pm.
Amongst other programmes, the woman engineers who topped in civil engineering from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati in the year 2021-22, will be awarded the prestigious ‘Kavita Devi Changkakati Sowarani Award’. This prestigious award is awarded every year by the forum in memory of the former general manager of NEEPCO, Kavita Devi.
Apart from this, one-time financial assistance will be given to two economically weak but meritorious students of first-year degree and diploma courses for the year 2022, which is also an initiative taken by the forum every year.
Paramesh Dutta, IAS and retired commissioner secretary (government of Assam), will be the guest of honour at the meeting.
On behalf of the Women Engineers’ Forum of Assam (WEFA), president, Dr Bibha Das Saikia and general secretary, Antara Barua requested the presence of all the members of the association at the event which is to be held on November 8, 2022.
