DIBRUGARH, Oct 24: The city council here has decided to hold a meeting to discuss the issue of the Mia Museum as there is a lot of controversy going around the inauguration of the museum in Tamulpur, Goalpara district.
Regarding the issue, Ali said, “After the inauguration of the Mia Museum in Tamulpur, Goalpara, it has become clear that I and two other fellow MLAs, Utpal Bora and Padma Hazarika have never supported the Mia Museum at all. The Mia Museum that was inaugurated will never be supported by our Garia Maria indigenous Muslim brothers. If anyone wants to establish a Mia Museum, go to Bangladesh and I have no objection but a Mia Museum will never be allowed to be established in Assam.”
“I humbly request the chief minister to direct the administration to evict the Mia Museum as soon as possible,” he added further.
