Stolen car recovered from Itakhola

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 25: A team of Itakhola police recovered a stolen car from Itakhola on Monday night a few days after Biswanath police busted a gang of car lifters.
It is to be mentioned here that a gang of car lifters had stolen more than three cars from Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh months back from a travel agency. The stolen Maruti S Presso Car from Naharlagun bearing registration number AS 01 Q 5361 was spotted near Itakhola weekly market by local people. The locals immediately informed Itakhola police. A team of Itakhola police reached the site and recovered the car and took it into their possession.
“The vehicle was locked and the number plate was removed during the time of recovery,” said a police official.
From the registration number, police later identified that the vehicle belonged to an executive engineer from Naharlagun which was stolen a few days ago.
