NAGAON, Oct 25: Due to incessant rain across the state, the authorities concerned of Karbi Langpi Hydro Electric Power Project, released additional water through four sluice gates of the big dam of the power project on Tuesday morning for which the overflowing water from Borpani river submerged several villages under Kampur revenue circle.

It is feared that the overflowing water of Borpani river will inundate more villages under the same revenue circle in the next 24 hours, sources added.

Sources claimed that during the recent two fresh waves of flood, the people of the revenue circle were devastated severely and the third wave of the flood again poses another threat to their survival.

The current fresh wave of flood has already submerged the villages like Kochuwa, Madhab para, Longjap, etc., since early on Tuesday morning, sources said adding further that due to unseasonal flood in those villages, panic prevails among the villagers of those areas.
