Gangtok, Oct 26: Chief minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang presented ‘Sikkim Awards 2022’ to the forty-one awardees from different fields in a function held at hotel Mayfair.
The award ceremony was organised by Nirmala Devi Foundation in collaboration with Sikkim Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Cell and ‘Positude’ Event Management Company. Nirmala Devi Foundation is a non-governmental organisation and it mainly focuses to provide education to the aspiring students of economically weaker sections of the rural areas.
The award ceremony was organised recently to celebrate and honour those who have worked for the welfare and benefit of the people and the State. Amongst those awarded were artistes, radio jockeys, journalists, home-stays, dairy cooperative society and others. Chief minister P.S Tamang expressed his gratitude to the organisers. He said this kind of function provides an opportunity to convey the collective appreciation to all the awardees who have worked hard for the welfare of the people.
The event also had cultural presentations by various artistes. The programme was also attended by speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly Arun Kumar Upreti, minister B.S Panth, dignitaries and special invitees and guests among the public.
