NAGAON, Oct 26: Sangskritik Gosthi – Kollul, a leading cultural organisation of the town is going to organise ‘Nagaon Book Fair 2022’ after a gap of two years caused by the prevailing Covid-19 situation across the globe. The fair will be held at Nagaon Nehrubali field from December 15 to December 22, 2022.
At a general meeting of the organisation, chaired by its president, Luhit Kalita on October 22 last, the organisation took the decision officially to organise the book fair and also constituted a special reception committee in this regard, spearheaded by the local MLA Rupak Sarma as the president; Narendra Kr Shah, deputy commissioner of Nagaon as well as Kollul’s president Luhit Kalita as executive president; Noushad Akhter Hazarika and noted Assamese short story teller Sibananda Kakoti as general secretary.
Besides, the organisation also decided to term or to dedicate the main spot of the book fair as well as its temporary tent in memory of noted Assamese litterateur and journalists respectively as Homen Borgohain Khetra and Lakshmi Nandan Bora Khetra.
During the meeting, the previous reception committee submitted its report of accounts in detail of the previous book fair too.
Local MLA Rupak Sarma, noted writer and retired former deputy commissioner Chandra Mohan Kakoti, and other members of the organisation were present in the meeting, a release added.
