Sivasagar Senior Citizens’ Forum meet held

SIVASAGAR, Oct 26: The Sivasagar District Senior Citizens’ Forum organised its 4th Biennial Conference in Sivasagar on October 23 in presence of newly elected office bearers of 14 primary units in the district.
Deben Chandra Baruah, president, District Committee, presided over the meeting. Dilip Saikia, general secretary, spoke on the objectives and read out the tributary message for late Dilip Buragohain, vice president of the state unit, Cheniram Gogoi, Buddheswar Gogoi, and other members who died recently.
Dilip Saikia read out the statement of accounts and secretarial report. The meeting elected the new office bearers for the year 2022-2024 with Deben Chandra Baruah as president, Prabhat Chandra Borthakur and Suresh Chandra Bora as vice president, Dilip Kumar Saikia as the secretary, Ajit Bora, and Ibrahim Ali as assistant secretaries and Sushil Chandra Baruah as district representative to the central committee.
The meeting decided to send a strong delegation team to the central committee conference to be held in Biswanath Chariali on November 12 and 13.
