HAJO, Nov 2: Rice Breeder Seed Monitoring programme for sali paddy seeds was held at Regional Rainfed Lowland Rice Research Station (RRLRRS), ICAR – National Rice Research Institute, Garua, Hajo on Wednesday.
During the programme, Dr R Bhagawati, officer-in-charge, RRLRRS appraised the visiting team about the different rice breeder seeds produced in the station. Mowsam Hazarika, director, Assam Seed and Organic Certification Agency; Khagendra Sarma, deputy director of Agriculture (Seed); Manabendra Sarma, senior agricultural development officer; Dr Anantha MS, senior scientist (Plant Breeding); Dr Sreedevi B, principal scientist (Agronomy) & Dr Jhansi Lakshmi, principal scientist (Entomology) from ICAR – Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad; Dr Kanchan Saikia, principal scientist, RRLRRS and Sikimoni Baruah, RRLRRS participated in the programme.
The team expressed their satisfaction on the performance of the different rice breeder seeds produced at RRLRRS, Garua, Hajo.
