Engineers’ & Architects’ Meet – StarTech 2022 organised in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Nov 13: StarTech – 2022, an Engineers’ & Architects’ Meet was organised in hotel Taj Vivanta, Guwahati. The event was organised by Star Cement, the leading cement brand of the region.
Notably, StarTech is a thought-sharing platform for engineers and technocrats where various aspects of civil engineering and technology are discussed and deliberated.
More than 250 engineers along with various dignitaries participated in the meet. Dr Jayanta Pathak, HOD Civil, Assam Engineering College was the chief speaker. Dr Pathak shared his insights on the ‘Amazing World of Concrete’. His topic included discussions on the development of concrete, its journey to modern-day concrete and concrete structures and infrastructures, how the role of cement is important, and how the handling of cement is even more important for getting the desired performance from concrete.
Dr Diganta Goswami, associate professor, Assam Engineering College also participated in the meet and provided a lecture on the topic ‘Soils & Foundation – From Theory to Practice’.
Commenting on StarTech – 2022, Jyoti Swaroop Agarwal, chief marketing officer stated, “The engineer has been, and is, a maker of history.”
“Since the time of its inception, way back in 2006 Star Cement’s StarTech has been discussing and deliberating on various crucial issues related to civil engineering with the objective of enhancing and advancing a diverse set of engineering practices,” Agarwal added.
