Minister Suklabaidya lays foundation stone of Dholai & Palonghat Dyke in Cachar

SILCHAR, Nov 14: Assam Transport, Fisheries & Excise, minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Sunday laid the foundation stone of construction works of anti-erosion measures to the dyke along length and breadth of river Sonai from SM road to Darmikhal of (R/B of River) restoration of breach like damage at Malugram of Palonghat GP estimated amount of Rs 200.61 (L) and another one anti erosion measures to Dholai Puran Sadak on length and breadth of River Rukni under SOPD- FDR estimated amount of Rs 317.37 (L) at Sadagram and Langtugram of Dholai GP in Cachar’s Dholai Assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, “During the earlier Congress government, the disaster management works were started during monsoon and as such the works could not be completed as per plan and estimate. Such works always remain incomplete and people do not get fruitful results although public money is used in those works. I have tried to prevent such misuse of government funds and to ensure fruitful results to save the people from the calamities.”
Minister Suklabaidya also directed the government officials of the steering committee to ensure that the work is of high quality and directed the water resource officials and contractor to complete the projects within stipulated time frame.
Minister Suklabaidya also effusively praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma led government and said, “Many visionary initiatives were being taken up by the government for the development of rural infrastructure and many other developmental works. The government is committed to the overall development of the Dholai constituency.”
The minister also urged the people to join their hands in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision of #SabkaSaathSabkaVikas.
The Zila Parishad member, Shashanka Chandra Paul, on the laying of foundation stone for the dyke said that it is a dream project for the people of the locality and praised the continuous development of Dholai.
He also said, “Under the guidance of minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Dholai constituency is fully committed under various developmental projects.”
Paul also lauded the various developmental projects of the present government of Assam and urged everyone to have confidence in the present government.
In the meeting, additional chief engineer, Pronab Kumar Turung; executive engineer, Water Resource, K Jamal; SDO Badrul Islam Laskar; Purba Dholai Zila Parishad, Swapan Kumar Das; Dholai GP president Bhusan Paul and others were present.
Earlier, the minister also attended the 8th Biennial State Conference, 2022 Heart Care Society of Assam organised by Barak Valley Chapter at the premises of Hotel Ellora, Silchar.
