ONGC conducts medical camp in Sofrai

GUWAHATI, Nov 20: ONGC Assam Asset, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, organised a free medical camp at 945 No Rangapothar LP School in Sofrai on Saturday.
M Ganeshan, CGM-head HR, inaugurating the medical camp underscored that ONGC is abundantly committed to the welfare of the stakeholders in the operational areas.
“Improving the health index of the people is one of the principal objectives of its CSR programmes,” he reiterated.
Over six hundred local people availed the medical services in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. On the occasion, a hundred near-vision spectacles and forty walking sticks for the elderly people were given. The team comprising ONGC doctors and staff conducted free blood sugar, and blood pressure tests and provided medicines to the patients.
In view of the rising numbers of Dengue cases in parts of the state, the doctors at the camp delivered a talk on the preventive measures and symptoms of Dengue. Informative banners were also displayed at the venue of the camp.
Recently, ONGC supplemented medical logistics in Assam by adding nine advanced life support ambulances to nine medical colleges in the state at a project cost of Rs 4.38 crore. These ambulances were flagged off by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and MoS, MoPNG and Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli.
The ONGC supported multi-speciality 300-bed hospital in Sivasagar which is being built at a project cost of Rs 483 crore is in the final stages of completion. Since the inauguration of its first phase in March 2019, it has treated about 64000 OPD patients.
