Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha inspects roads, sewage channels in Silchar ahead of cabinet meet

SILCHAR, Nov 21: Ahead of the upcoming Assam Cabinet’s Meeting in Silchar, deputy commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha inspected roads in different localities of the town on Monday and instructed officials of various departments to ensure that all the roads are repaired and the drainage system is maintained properly before the Cabinet Meet.
On Monday morning, deputy commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha accompanied by district development commissioner, Rajib Roy and Silchar Municipal Board’s executive officer, Ashutosh Deka conducted inspections of roads in different areas including Ukilpatty, Narsingtala, Nazirpatty, Sonai Road, Hospital Road and National Highway among others. Besides, the DC inspected the Rangirkhal sewerage channel and gave instructions so that all the roads, which are in a bad shape, are repaired and the sewerage channel is cleaned for smooth passage of water and garbage materials.
DC Rohan Jha also directed the municipal board authorities that all the visited places should be cleaned by November 25.
While sharing his reaction, executive officer, Silchar Municipal Board, Ashutosh Deka said special teams have been constituted to tackle garbage management and the teams would be active all throughout day and night to deal with the problem of garbage management.
Roads will be repaired before the upcoming Cabinet Meet, executive officer Deka said.
