Nonoi Higher Secondary School all set to celebrate its diamond jubilee

NAGAON, Nov 23: Nonoi Higher Secondary School is all set to celebrate its glorious diamond jubilee with a three-day long programme from here at the school playground from November 25 onwards.
The programme will be initiated with hoisting 75 flags and the main flag of the celebration will be unfurled by local Barhampur MLA Jitu Goswami following which the rest of the flags will be hoisted by prominent dignitaries of the greater Nonoi areas.
As per information intimated by the Diamond Jubilee Celebration Committee, in the opening session, a significant programme titled as ‘Nonoiye Ringiai’ has been scheduled to be held under chairmanship of Badan Chandra Bora, a retired teacher and the programme will be inaugurated by former AGP minister Girindra Kr Boruah. Former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Sankarjyoti Boruah, state general secretary of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and noted physician Dr Anjan Jyoti Chaudhary will be present in the programme as special guests.
In closing day on November 27, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will address the open session of the celebration as the chief guest while the state education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, state health minister Keshab Mahanta, water resource minister Pijush Hazarika will be present as the special guests. The programme will be concluded following a colourful cultural extravaganza in the same evening, where noted Assamese singer Achurya Borpatra Gohain will perform his songs and music.
Jogeswar Saikia, president, Prafulla Chandra Bora, executive president and Sanjiv Kumar Kalita, principal cum general secretary of Diamond Jubilee Celebration Committee urged all students, alumni, teachers, parents and other well-wishers to ensure their enthusiasm to make the programme a grand success.
