Brihattar Sivasagar Press Club condemns ragging incident in Dibrugarh University

SIVASAGAR, Nov 29: Brihattar Sivasagar Press Club, on Tuesday, in a release condemned the ragging incident in Dibrugarh University in which a first-semester Commerce student Annad Sharma was subjected to inhumane torture by a gang of senior students on Sunday and to evade a threat to his life, the student had to jump off from the second floor of the hostel, injuring himself grievously,
In the release signed by Manoj Kumar Borthakur and Kumar Abhijit Duwora, the president and the secretary of the club respectively, however, appreciates the prompt action taken by the authority of the university in expelling the accused and taking steps to prevent the nuisance from the university campus.
It also appreciates the Dibrugarh district administration’s step for a probe under a Magistrate.
