Social activist Buddheswar Daimary passes away

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 30: Noted social activist and senior cultural worker from greater Sukhanjhora area, Buddheswar Daimary passed away on Tuesday evening at his Sukhanjhora residence in Kokrajhar district. He was 70.
Daimary was suffering from old age ailments and was going under treatment at his residence.
He breathed his last around 8 pm on Tuesday evening and was cremated at the village crematorium ground. He is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters.
Daimary was a retired teacher of Magurmari ME school and a former radio artist. He was regarded as a prominent social thinker in the area and was associated with numerous social organisations like Bodo Cultural Society, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, etc., till his demise.
He was one of the prominent active workers under Banargaon Anchalik Committee, All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and Bodo Peoples Action Committee and was involved during the Bodoland Movement in 1987.
He was also one of founding members of SK Ehi Hiu Club, Sukhanjhora (1976) and SK Jeowary ME School (1979).
The society in the greater Sukhanjhora area lost a great social activist and cultural activist with his demise.
Kokrajhar East LAC MLA, Lawrence Islary visited the family and offered tribute to Buddheswar Daimary.
Several organisations including UPPL, Banargaon Anchalik Committee, All Bodo Students Union, Sukhanjhora unit committee ABSU, Sukhanjhora Primary UPPL Party, teaching fraternities from greater Sukhanjhora, Magurmari area extended their deep condolences over his demise.
