River ranching programme organised at Dehingmukh

DEMOW, Nov 30: The department of Fisheries, Sivasagar organised a ‘River Ranching Programme’, under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) at Dehingmukh on Tuesday.
Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain formally released one lakh fish hatchlings into Dehing river on Tuesday, as a part of the ‘River Ranching Programme’, under PMMSY – one of the flagship schemes of the central government.
Shilpika Gogoi, Mridul Kumar Das – both fisheries development officers; Bhargab Bhagawati, owner of Pabhoi Matsya Farm; officials of Fisheries department, panchayat representatives, local gaon pradhan, local people, along with other dignitaries were present.
