HOJAI, Dec 2: Hojai police seized fifteen containers of brown sugar and apprehended one, based on information from a reliable source.
As per information, under the leadership of SP Barun Purkaystha, Hojai district police was on a mission to burst drugs rackets and accordingly on Friday, based on a tip off, Hojai police led by officer-in-charge Tapan Medhi launched a massive operation at Krishna Nagar area in Hojai.
Police successfully arrested one Babu Ghosh and 15 containers of brown sugar were seized which weighed around 15.58 grams from his possession.
As per source, the drug peddler had brought the brown sugar from Dimapur.
After interrogation, police produced him before the Sankardev Nagar Court, where the court sent the drugs peddler Babu Ghosh to jail.
