GUWAHATI, Dec 6: The 66th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar was observed on Tuesday in Dr Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Griha at the NF Railway Headquarters complex.
Anshul Gupta, general manager of NF Railway and other senior officials paid homage by lighting the lamp and offering floral tribute to the portrait of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar. The officers, staff of NF Railway Headquarters and representatives of various associations and unions were also present on the occasion.
Dr BR Ambedkar was India’s first minister of Law and Justice, and considered as the chief architect of the Constitution of India. He was also an eminent Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer. The author of the Indian Constitution, born in a simple family, had achieved achievements in the field of education amidst many difficulties. His fame was not only in the country but also abroad.
Speaking on this occasion, Anshul Gupta, general manager of NF Railway mentioned about Dr BR Ambedkar’s contribution towards framing of the Indian Constitution, providing justice and equality to all classes of the society and development of the underprivileged section of the society. His whole life is an inspiration for all classes of the society, the general manager added. General secretary of All India Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Railway Employees’ Association (NFR Zone) also spoke on the occasion wherein he emphasised the importance of Dr BR Ambedkar in uplifting the Indian society.
