GUWAHATI, Dec 7: The airport operator of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport celebrated World Aviation Day to acknowledge the aviation industry’s influence on modern life.
To mark the special day, LGBI Airport, Guwahati invited a group of students from Chandra Prava Girls High School, Azara, Kamrup. The students visited the airport terminal along with school teacher Drarmakanta Das and Ghanakanta Talukdar and got a birds eye view on how the airlines and other stakeholders work at the airport.
Subsequently, a knowledge sharing session was conducted. A question-answer session was held between the students and the CAO, GIAL where various aspects of civil aviation were discussed. Questions asked by the students related to aviation were responded to by CAO Utpal Baruah in his lucid style that included career in aviation, job opportunities and evolution of civil aviation.
The occasion was blessed with the presence of CISF head Lalmohon Thakur and other senior officials of GIAL. Students were amazed to find the opportunity to get themselves acquainted with a new subject about which they hitherto remained unaware of.
Notably, the event was coordinated by Ruma Devi, the spokesperson of GIAL.
