IMPHAL, Dec 8 (NNN): An alleged drug peddler was arrested along with 3.046 kg of brown sugar in Saikul area of Manipur’s Kangpokpi district, police said on Thursday.
The alleged drug peddler has been identified as Ngamlenthang Khongsai (32) of Kangpokpi district.
He was arrested by a combined team of Manipur police and 22 Assam Rifles on frisking and checking duty at Saikul village based on specific information on Wednesday, around 5.30 pm, police also said.

The alleged drug peddler who came on a scooter with no registration plate was stopped for checking when he was found behaving in a very suspicious manner, the police added.
During on spot interrogation, Ngamlenthang Khongsai admitted himself to be a drug peddler transporting illegal drugs.
Upon checking the scooter he came with, the security force personnel found the brown sugar packed in six polythene packets marked as A,B,C,D,E and F in a parcel box, the police further added.
