Asom Natya Sanmilan receives five awards in zonal drama competition

NAGAON, Dec 26: Asom Natya Sanmilan, Nagaon Pathori branch bagged the ‘best drama group’ in zonal open full-fledged drama competition organised by Kampyth Mandal of Asom Natya Sanmilan at Langhing in East Karbi Anglong district on Saturday last.
Moreover, the group received the best director, best playwright, best co-actor and best set design for its play – ‘Jighangsha’ which was penned by playwright Liaquat Ali.
The play was directed by Suraj Kumar Saikia while the settings of the play was designed by Anjan Bora. Besides, actor Sanjib Bora was nominated as the best co-actor.
Natyapran Prasanta Sarma, Babul Bhagawati, Sanjib Bora, Pulak Moni Bora, Pabitra Kalita, Jitu Mahanta, Suraj Kumar Bora, Dhananjay Bordoloi and Papori Saikia respectively played roles in various characters in the play, a release added.
