NTPC organises safety walk in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 2: NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati joined the rest of the country in celebrating the new year on Sunday by carrying out a massive safety walk inside the plant complex in Kokrajhar.
On the first working day of the year, Karunakar Das, chief general manager, NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati along with the senior management of the station celebrated the new year by conducting a massive safety walk within the plant premises spreading the message of safety.
More than 500 people which included employees from various departments, agencies, contractual workers, associates including representatives from BHEL participated in the walk. This the first time that a walk of this magnitude has been done in the station.
A safety resolution and pledge to keep the plant and township area safe and sound was administered by Das in the presence of Umesh Singh, GM (Operation & Maintenance), Sanjay K Jha, GM (FM), Sanjay S Pande, GM (Fuel Management), GM Thangzom, commandant, CISF, NTPC Bongaigaon, senior officials of various departments, representatives of union and associations, ladies club and welfare bodies.
Speaking on the occasion, Das highlighted NTPC’s efforts towards safety and its policies and praised NTPC Bongaigaon for all the safety practices.
Earlier as a part of the new year celebration, a cake cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.
