Lakhima Devi, a resident of Gamiripal village, under Jamuguri police station breathed her last due to old age-related ailments at her own residence on Tuesday. She was 94. A pious lady, Lakhima was closely associated with many socio-cultural and religious organisations of the greater Gamiripal area. She was the wife of Late Rituparna Sarma, an eminent Hindi teacher of the greater Jamugurihat area. She leaves behind her three sons, five daughters along with a host of relatives. Her demise was widely mourned here.
