DIPHU: A woman was murdered by her husband in Karbi Anglong. The murder took place in Nepali Basti, Pacca Field under Khatkhati police station in Karbi Anglong.

The police upon being informed by the Village Defence Committee (VDC) arrived in the village and arrested Rajesh Sarma (46) and recovered the dead body of his wife Padma Sarma (30) from a nearby pond. Sources said that the murder took place around 11 pm on Friday night. The deceased Padma was murdered by her husband Rajesh with a dao.

In the morning of Saturday, the villagers came across the dead body of the woman in the pond and informed the VDC. The VDC in turn informed the police.
