GUWAHATI, March 24: Along with other districts of the state, the district transport department of Kamrup Metro has also taken special initiatives to collect the outstanding vehicle taxes in the district.
Accordingly, public awareness is being created amongst the owners of various vehicles in the district regarding payment of tax by earmarking March 31 as the last day for payment of outstanding taxes. For this, leaflets are being distributed in various places of the district.
It may be noted that a fine will be imposed as a penalty for non-payment of taxes in time. In addition to that, registration of the vehicle may also be cancelled.
Assistant commissioner of transport and district transport officer (registration & licensing) Gautom Das have made a humble appeal to every vehicle owner of the district to pay the tax in time for strengthening the transport system and prove themselves as responsible citizens by contributing towards the development of the state.
