SIVASAGAR, March 25: Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification as member of the parliament following the verdict of the Surat Court has stirred a wide spread condemnation in Sivasagar district as well.
Debabrat Saikia said that the BJP government wants to restrain Rahul Gandhi from revealing further details of illegal croni capitalistic policy of the government in the parliament and so has disqualified him.
Bharati Saikia, general secretary, Assam Mahila Congress, on Saturday condemned the arrest and said that Himanta Biswa Sharma, while he was in the Congress party blasted the PM Narendra Modi in very offensive terms. But as Sarma joined the BJP in the wake of the alleged Sarada and other scams, he got respites from all such defamation charges.
Dhairjya Konwar, leader of the Raijor Dal in Thowra LAC, said that there is no rule of law in the country now under the autocratic dispensation of the Modi Raj. Ranjit Sarmah, senior leader of the Aam Admi Party in Amguri severely criticised the BJP and said that the Assam chief minister, while addressing the election rally in Uttarakhand, spoke about the alleged DNA test regarding Rahul Gandhi’s father which easily eluded the reprimand from the law enforcing authority.
Condemning the act, CPI’s state secretary Kanak Gogoi demanded immediate reinstating of the Congress leader.
The BJP leaders from the district could not be contacted over phone while filing this report
