GUWAHATI, April 26: The 7th India Industrial Fair – ‘Udyam 2022’ from April 22 to 25 at Veterinary ground, Khanapara, Guwahati organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati, Purvottar Prant concluded with ‘Udyamee Samellan’ on Monday.
On Monday, Udyami Sammelan alongwith 28th Staphna Diwas was celebrated at Guwahati. The occasion was graced by Union minister of States for Industries & commerce Som Prakash along with Dr Krishna Gopal, All India Sah Sarkaryawaha RSS and Sampark Pramukh, Laghu Udyog Bharati and Chandra Mohan Patowary, minister Industries & Commerce to the Govt of Assam. Also present on the dias were All India Sangthan Mantri LUB Prakash Chand with present and past All India president and general secretary along and other national office bearers. Hari Mundra, Uttar Assam Prant Vyavastha Pramukh was also present during the event.
All India executive and working committee meeting for 2 days was held at Hotel Palacio where president & secretary from all the 28 states & Union Territories of India were present and discussion on import substitutes, GST, Labour Laws, etc., was done and future roadmap was discussed.
Dr Krishna Gopal said that he has served as pracharak in NER for 13 years from 2001 to 2014 and is now realising an all-round Infrastructure development in the region in the past few years. He said a peaceful atmosphere has been created in the last few years with all round logistic connections in the entire North east region. IIT Ghy is amongst the top 5 institutes in India, bringing AIIMS and several medical colleges will transform the development of the state. He added that the Northeast has the best climatic conditions throughout the year as compared to other states which in-turn creates a bundle of new opportunities for budding entrepreneurs. He also added that NER has a wide scope of export opportunities in food processing, handloom/handicrafts, etc., and can be an export hub to the ASEAN and BBN countries.
Chandra Mohan Patowary thanked the Central ministry for their all-round support and he requested the central industrial ministry for a new industrial policy for sustainable growth of Assam & NER. He praised Laghu Udyog Bharati several times for their continuous and consistent efforts for the industrial development of the state.
Som Prakash said that India has become the investment destination for the World. The Central government has changed the definition of MSME to encourage investments and growth in this sector. He also said that only Indian MSME’s can participate in tender upto Rs 200 crore. He has assured New Industrial Policy for North east is under final process with minimal departmental interference for maximum industrialisation.
Baldev Bhai Prajapati informed the august gathering that LUB was formed in the year 1994 by its founder president Late Vishwamitra Ji Bahl at Nagpur. During its journey of 28 years, LUB has embarked its presence in more than 450 districts with over 672 chapters all over the country with a strength of around 32,000 industrial entrepreneur members with representation in national & state bodies & boards as directors and members.
President Purvottar prant Manoj Lundia said that the expo was organised in partnership with Industries & Commerce Department, Govt of Assam and MSME. He stated that 427 exhibitors from all over the country participated in the expo and got overwhelming response from the 30000+ esteemed visitors and dignitaries during this 4-day event. He praised the efforts of the industries department for bringing 96 micro exhibitors from all the 35 districts of the state. He said LUB arranged for special seminars on all days of the exhibition covering different topics like Banking & Finance, Industrial policy and its impact, Renewable energy, Agri – wood, Industries related to Petroleum, Waste management, Food processing, Tourism & Handicrafts, Export promotion, etc. Relevant speakers related to the topics shared their expertise and enlightened the prospective entrepreneurs of the region and appraised them about the technologies & marketing strategies. Special attraction was experts from Amazon and Flipkart who guided on e-market access.
It was informed that in the 4-day expo, many ministers and dignitaries visited the expo namely Union Defense minister Rajnath Singh, Union Cabinet minister of MSME Narayan Rane, chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, minister of Urban Affairs to Govt of Assam Ashok Singhal, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya along with chairman Rubber Board, Coir Board, ASIDC, AIIDC, etc., Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, CMD, Pride East Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
