Sivasagar Sanmilita Bihu Sanmilan gives birth to ‘Sanmilita Sewa’

SIVASAGAR, May 10
: ‘Sanmilita Sewa’, a new organisation was created by the Sivasagar Sanmilita Bihu Sanmilan Organising Committee after successfully celebrating the 26th Bihu Sanmilan in Boarding Field which came to an end on Monday.

Sivasagar deputy commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav IAS, who was the chief guest of the musical night unfurled the banner announcing the birth of the organisation. Sarat Hazarika, principal secretary of the new organisation, declared that it will help in growth of the entrepreneurs who utilise indigenous cultural resources.

The members of the Sanmilan voluntarily donated Rs 2.5 lakh for the initial works. Hazarika also pointed out the social services of the Sanmilita Bihu Sanmilan over the last 25 years including running water project in Sivasagar Civil Hospital and Sivasagar Government HS School, financial aid to Peoli Phukan Stadium Gymnastics Hall and to the Covid-19 patients. The organisation now will also support weavers to produce Assamese cotton gamosa and organic farmers.

The inauguration ceremony was attended among others by Dr PP Chetia, president, Sanmilita Bihu Sanmilan, Bitupon Neog, ADC, Sivasagar, advisers Manoj Bhagawati, Mridul Kumar Phukan, Bibhuti Chetia, Buddheswar Chutia, and Utpal Burahohain.
