Bongaigaon DC Holds Meeting With Dealers Under Food & Civil Supply Department

People urged to link Aadhaar card with ration cards

GUWAHATI, April 28: On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a meeting was held on Anna Yojana at the joint initiative of Bongaigaon District Administration and District Office of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs at district library here on Wednesday.

Nabadeep Pathak, deputy commissioner, Bongaigaon held discussions with dealers under the department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

In presence of Nabajyoti Ojha, additional deputy commissioner (Food and Civil Supplies) of Bongaigaon district and Partha Sarathi Jahari, additional deputy commissioner and SDO(C)i/c, North Salmara sub-division spoke at length on the importance and benefits of linking Aadhaar cards to the ration cards to the dealers and requested the dealers for making use of e-pos machine for monetary transaction in lifting the commodities of PDS.

In the meeting, the dealers of the district were informed by the inspectors of the Food and Civil Supplies department about effective actions taken by the department in this regard and also assured all possible cooperation to resolve the issues if facing any problem by the dealers.

Deputy commissioner Nabadeep Pathak instructed the inspectors and dealers of the Supply department to connect Aadhaar with ration cards except NRC problem and in case of death of some beneficiaries.

DC Pathak also advised the inspectors of the supply department to help the dealers to ensure 100 per cent registration in the Aadhaar card registration process.

DC Pathak further stated that the beneficiaries of the ration cards will not receive the materials of the Public Distribution System later unless the dealers take appropriate action to understand the importance of the issue. He also emphasised on the importance of the registration of Aadhaar card and urged beneficiaries to complete the registration process with due course of time to avoid all sorts of problems.

DC Pathak also advised the dealers to complete the registration process within the next ten days.

The meeting was also attended by deputy director, i/c, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, inspectors, sub-inspectors and other officers and dealers under Supply department.
