Governor Parnaik meets Prez, discusses Arunachal’s progress

NAMSAI, July 18: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General KT Parnaik (Retd), PVSM, UYSM, YSM, called on the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday.

According to an official statement, the Governor was accompanied by the First Lady of the State, Anagha Parnaik.

During the meeting, Governor Parnaik presented the President with a copy of Orchids of Arunachal Pradesh—a comprehensive reference book showcasing the state’s remarkable diversity of orchid species, many of which are rare, endemic, and of international botanical significance.

The statement informed that the Governor apprised the President of the developmental progress underway in Arunachal Pradesh and reiterated the State Government’s commitment to contributing to the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ through its own roadmap of ‘Viksit Arunachal’.

He highlighted ongoing initiatives across sectors aimed at fostering inclusive growth and improving the lives of people in the frontier State.

Governor Parnaik also updated the President on follow-up measures taken with regard to key points discussed during the last Governors’ Conference.

He reaffirmed the State’s support for national priorities and emphasized the significance of cooperative federalism in addressing challenges in remote and diverse regions.

The Governor further briefed the President on the Raj Bhavan’s proactive interventions in areas such as public health—particularly the fight against tuberculosis—women’s empowerment, youth development, and education and healthcare improvements.
