PASIGHAT, Aug 22: A special review meeting of the Rural Works Department (RWD) to assess and monitor the progress of ongoing PMGSY, VVP and SASCI projects under Pasighat, Kaying and Yingkiong divisions was held at the office of the Superintending Engineer, RWD, Pasighat Circle, on Friday.
According to an official statement, the meeting was chaired by RWD Secretary PN Thungon in the presence of Er M Chiram, SE, RWD, Pasighat Circle, with the participation of all field officials and contractors or their representatives connected with the projects.
During the review, the Secretary took note of the delays in PMGSY-I and III works and emphasised the need to complete these projects before March 2026.
He also took written and assented assurances from the contractors and firms for their timely completion, while placing the responsibility of proper supervision on the field officials.
The statement further said that the progress of VVP and SASCI projects, which are still within the stipulated construction period, was also reviewed.
The Secretary urged stakeholders to accelerate the pace of work and laid special stress on completing school infrastructure projects before the beginning of the next academic session.
The review meeting, the statement added, served as a constructive platform for government officials and contractors to discuss project-related issues, finalise consented timelines for completion, and work out solutions to expedite execution.
