The project seeks to encourage fitness, teamwork and a vibrant sporting culture among youth in one of Arunachal Pradesh’s most remote border regions.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, school students, teachers, panchayat members, district officials and personnel of the Indian Army.

Addressing the gathering, DC Jerang underscored the role of accessible sports infrastructure in nurturing young talent and thanked the Army for supporting the aspirations of border communities.

He described the facility as “a platform for growth, discipline and healthy competition.”

Officials of the Spear Corps said the initiative was part of the Army’s broader effort to strengthen its ties with locals and inspire youth to adopt active and positive lifestyles.

Equipped with FIFA-standard all-weather surfaces and eco-friendly design, the complex will host training sessions, friendly matches and inter-village tournaments.

It will also serve as a venue for cultural and social events, reinforcing the bond between the Indian Army and the people of Upper Siang.

The new facility stands as a symbol of cooperation, resilience and opportunity, reflecting the shared commitment of the civil administration and the Indian Army towards nation-building and community empowerment along India’s northeastern frontier.
