25th State Yogasana Championship starts in Tezpur

TEZPUR, Aug 21: The 25th State Yogasana Championship 2022 of Assam Yoga Association held under the aegis of Sonitpur District Yoga Association was inaugurated on Friday at the historic Baan Theatre here.
At the very outset of the programme, flags of the state and the district yoga association were hoisted respectively by Tapan Kumar Das, president, Assam Yoga Association and Nila Kanta Sarma, president, Sonitpur District Yoga Association.
Being attended as chief guest in the inaugural function, Gitartha Goswami, member secretary, Students Sports Welfare Advisory Council, Government of Assam lighted the lanterns along with other guests said that he would try to discharge the duties and responsibilities properly with full dedication which were bestowed upon him by the Government of Assam.
Among other dignitaries, the inaugural ceremony was attended by Mr India Bijit Gogoi, Prithiraj Rabha, MLA, Tezpur, Deba Kumar Mishra, deputy commissioner, Sonitpur, Ritubaran Sharma, vice president, Assam Olympic Association and vice chairman of Amtron, Khanindra Mudoi, district sports officer. The first day of the competition was started by state secretary Prabhat Chandra Bora after special honouring of four national referees of yoga sports from West Bengal – Manik Pradhan, Shyamal Kumar Dutta, Subrata Sarkar and Choyan Mallik respectively.
