4th Foundation Day of Children Friends Club held at Bogapani, Digboi

MARGHERITA, Jan 2: Children Friends Club (NGO), Margherita on Sunday organised its 4th Foundation Day at Bogapani, Digboi under Tinsukia district where 6 persons from various fields were felicitated with citation and traditional Assamese gamosa for their outstanding contribution towards society and state.
Papu Sah, president of Children Friends Club, Margherita said that the main objectives and aims of the NGO is to look after issues related to children such as child labour, child trafficking, child abuse and right to education of children. “On January 1, 2019, I, along with Chura Giri, retired HOD of Sociology department, Margherita College; Margherita Journalists Association’s treasurer Mithun Baruah and social worker of Margherita, Dwaraj Simon constituted Children Friends Club at Margherita to work on the issues related to children,” said Papu Sah.
“The programme was organised with the support of Legal Awareness Network Centre, Margherita where many school children performed cultural songs and dances enthralling the attendees. Young entrepreneur and social worker of Lekhapani, Chand Prakash Jaiswal; social worker of Margherita, Rikki Sharma and Arun Rastogi; social worker Bobby Hazarika of Digboi; Vishal Maurya of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh and Mithun Baruah, treasurer of Margherita Journalists Association were felicitated with a citation and a traditional Assamese gamosa,” said Papu Sah.
The guest of honour was felicitated with traditional Assamese gamosa and a xorai where Dr Sanjib Sonowal, radiologist of NEC Central Hospital, Margherita; social worker of Margherita Umesh Borah; Dr Niharika Borah of Digboi Civil Hospital; and many others distinguished persons were present at the Foundation Day programme.
