5 unclaimed bodies in JMCH morgue cremated by NGO

JORHAT, Oct 15: Five bodies, including one female, that was lying unclaimed at the morgue of Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for over a month, on Friday night were cremated at the Garamur cremation ground by a local NGO.
The NGO named ‘Muktipath’ with the support from the public stepped in after the bodies were lying at the morgue for a long period as the local administration or the municipal board were reportedly not taking steps in this regard.
The Jorhat Municipal Board provided a tractor to carry the bodies to the cremation ground, the NGO members stated.
